Look, I really do have to say this…
On a day that news of Lord Levy being arrested and questioned on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in relation to the ‘loans for peerages’ allegations just in time for the early evening news, and with the Tories crawling all over the Smith Institute like a rash and, amongst other matters, targetting it for having employed Ed Balls during the period between his worked at the Treasury and being elected to Parliament, it is categorically NOT the right time for anyone to be going public with the news that Colin Challen has decided not to go up against Ed for the one seat left between the two of them courtesy of the Boundaries Commission and abso-fucking-lutely the wrong time to be speculating about whether an elevation to the peerage might lie in Colin’s future.
Its just NOT the right time – okay?
