I know, I know. The words ‘Vote Dorries’ are just about the last thing that anyone would expect to read here at the Ministry but just this once she’s a contender for an award that she undoubtedly deserves; New Humanist’s annual Bad Faith award.

Admittedly its strong field this year, as it is every year, with contenders ranging from raving theocrats (Michele Bachman) to raving journalists (Melanie Phillips) to just plain raving (Anjem Choudary) but, for me, Dorries remains the stand out candidate as she’s by some distance the most prolific and boneheaded bullshitter in modern parliamentary history.

So, just this once, I am going to ask you to vote for Nadine Dorries – just don’t expect this to ever happen again.
